Holiday in Romania: How I surprised my family

RO: După 6 luni de muncă a venit si bine-meritata vacanță. Două săptămâni care au trecut foarte repede. De vreo lună de când mi se acceptase concediul pentru februarie am complotat împreună cu Mihai să facem o mare surpriză familiei: să mergem în România fără ca ei să știe. Zis și făcut. La sfârșitul lunii ianuarie când am luat banii am cumpărat biletele de avion și de autocar pentru februarie. Pentru prima oară am luat biletele de la compania Ryanair fiindcă erau destul de ieftine față de Wizz Air-ul cu care mai zburasem. La Wizz ne costa 270 lire numai biletele fără bagaje și fără autocar. Dar la Ryanair am plătit 160 lire pentru două persoane dus-întors cu bagaj de cală, plus 100 lire autocarul National Express dus-întors/2 persoane din York la aeroportul London Stansted. Foarte mulțumiți de compania Ryanair. Singura problemă este că a fost obositoare întregul drum. Cinci ore și jumătate din York la aeroport(fiindcă mai aproape de noi nu am găsit bilete rentabile), trei ore și ceva de stat în aeroport până am decolat, trei ore de zbor până la București plus aproape trei ore de la București la Craiova cu mașina(foarte aglomerat). La București ne-a așteptat prietena mea, Luminița, cu care complotasem pe internet. Era printre puținele persoane care știau că venim. Când am ajuns în București de-abia așteptam momentul când o să ne vadă familia, ne tot imaginam de zile întregi cum o să reacționeze având în vedere că le tot spuneam că nu putem veni chiar dacă am concediu fiindcă lucreaza Mihai(dar și el avea concediu) iar în ziua când trebuia să plecăm către România le-am spus că m-au chemat la serviciu fiindcă aveau nevoie. Mincinoși!

Când am ajuns la ai mei la ușă, i-a deschis mami prietenei mele iar noi eram ascunși după bloc. Am ieșit repede, am spus: „Mami, suntem aici!” și a rămas blocată când ne-a văzut. S-a albit la față, am crezut că i se face rău, nu știa ce să mai zică, a început să plângă și apoi ne-a strâns în brațe, nu voia să ne de-a drumul. Ne-am întâlnit și cu Pitsi care era foarte confuză, ne mirosea și se înfoiase. În scurt timp și-a revenit și a stat numai cu noi, ne urmărea. Ne-am dus și la bunicii mei care erau în cameră și nu auziseră că am venit. Eram foarte atenți la TV și am zis: „Tataie, Mamaie”. Instinctul lui a fost(fiindcă de-obicei spuneam:”Tataieee!” când eram acasă și aveam nevoie de ceva): „Da, Andruța, ce este?”. Doar că nu își dăduse seama că eu chiar sunt acolo. Când a realizat, a început să plângă și el și mamaie și ne-au strâns foarte tare în brațe. Nu le venea să creadă că am făcut asemenea surpriză. Mamaie a zis: „Andruța, parcă am întinerit cu 5 ani când v-am văzut!”. Am sunat-o pe bunica din partea tatălui meu și mi-a spus „Hai mă, nu-mi vine să cred, voi chiar sunteți acasă?”. Hihi. Tata trebuia să vină de la serviciu la ora 23 și i-am deschis ușa cu Mihai și cu Pitsi. A zis: „Iaaa. Băi, voi sunteți nebuni?! Ce faceți aici?!”. Nu se aștepta, nimeni nu se aștepta. După ce am mai vorbit cu ei și le-am spus cum ne-a venit ideea, am plecat la părinții lui Mihai. Tot așa, strategic, ne-am ascuns după mașină și când ne-a văzut tata lui Mihai, blocat fiind, a început să plângă și ne-a luat în brațe. La fel și mama lui Mihai, nu credea că am venit. Nu știa cum să reacționeze. Și nici noi decât că „suntem aici!”. Eram extrem de fericiți. Apoi am pus pe Facebook și a aflat toată lumea că am venit în vacanță și au început ieșirile și vizitele. Am încercat să ne vedem cu cât mai multe persoane dar nu am reușit cu toată lumea. Nu a fost foarte mult timp la dispoziție, a trecut foarte repede fiindcă ne-am simțit bine. Acum a fost o vizită surpriză, am vrut doar să-i facem fericiți pe ai noștri fiindcă le era foarte greu fără noi și acum s-au mai liniștit și au văzut că nu e chiar așa de mare distanță între noi și că suntem bine. În iunie ne ducem din nou și stăm două săptămâni nu opt zile ca acum.

A fost o vacanță foarte frumoasă dar acum suntem înapoi în Anglia și am început munca. Mi-a fost dor de colegi, de momentele amuzante și de cele când suntem foarte ocupați dar fiind o bună muncă de echipă trecem mai ușor prin tură. Ne rămâne de moment să plănuim vacanța din vară și între timp să ne bucurăm de momentele frumoase pe care le avem aici.

EN: After 6 months of work came the well-deserved holiday. Two weeks passed quickly. About a month ago when they accepted my holiday for February, I started to plan with Mihai a suprise-holiday in Romania. Said and done. At the end of January, when we had the money we bought the flight & coach tickets. For the first time, we got the flight tickets from Ryanair because they were cheaper than those from Wizz Air. At Wizz Air the flight tickets cost 270 pounds without the checked baggage and the coach. But with Ryanair cost only 160 pounds for 2 persons returning too, with checked baggage, plus 100 pounds the National Express coach returning for 2 persons from York to London Stansted Aiport. Very happy with Ryanair. The only problem was that the entire journey was exhausting. Five hours and a half from York to the airport(because we didn’t find any good price tickets near us), three hours stayed in the airport until we took off, three hours flight to Bucharest plus nearly three hours from Bucharest to Craiova(our city), it was very busy on the road. In Bucharest my friend, Luminita, expected us because we were plotting this on the internet. She was one of the few people who knew that we were coming. When we arrived in Bucharest, we were looking forward for the moment when the family will see us, we imagined for so many days how they will react when they will see us, since we kept saying to them that we can’t come because Mihai is working(but he had holiday too) and on the day that we had to go to Romania I told them that I’m working because they needed me to do a shift. I think that we are good liars! Haha!

When we arrived home, my mother opened the door to my friend and we were hiding behind the block. We appeared and said: ”Mommy, we’re here!” and she remained blocked when she saw us. Her face colour was turning to white, I thought that she will faint, she didn’t know what to say, started crying and then hugged us, she didn’t want to let go. Pitsi saw us and she seemed very confused, she smelled us and her fur started to ruffle. Soon she recognized us and stood only with us, following us. We went in my grandparents room because they didn’t hear us coming. They were watching TV and I said: ”Grandpa, Grandma”. His instinct was(because I was usually coming to him saying: ”Grandpaaa!” when I was home and wanted something and he was answering me): ”Yes, Andruta, what is the matter?”. But he didn’t realize that I’m really there. When he realized, they started to cry and strongly hugged us. They couldn’t believe that we made such a big surprise. My grandma said: ”Andruta, it is like I’m 5 years younger since I saw you!”. I called my grandma from my father side and she said: ”C’mon, I can’t believe, you are really home?”. Hihi. My dad was supposed to come from work at 11pm so we opened the door to him with my cat in my arms. He was like: ”Whaaat?! Are you crazy?! What are you doing here?!”. He didn’t have any idea that we are coming, nobody expected that this will happen. After we talked with them and told them how we got the idea, we went to Mihai’s parents. In the same way, strategically, we hid behind the car and when Mihai’s father saw us he started to cry and hugged us. The same happened with Mihai’s mother, didn’t have any idea that we will make this surprise. She didn’t know how to react. Neither do us. We were extremely happy. Then we put on Facebook that we are home and everybody found out about our holiday and the visits and going out began. We tried to go out with as many people as we could but we didn’t manage to see everyone. We didn’t have so much time, it passed very quickly because we felt very good. Now it was a suprise-holiday, we wanted to make our family happy because it was very hard for them and they are feeling better now, they saw that the distance is not so long between us and that we are ok. In June we go back again and we stay for two weeks not only eight days like now.

It was a very beautiful holiday but now we are back in England and started work. I missed my colleagues, the funny moments with them and they moments when we are very busy but because most of the time we have a good teamwork we go easy through our shifts. At the moment, we plan our summer holiday and in the meantime we enjoy our beautiful moments that we have here. Making memories here!
