(Review) What’s in my March 2017 Birchbox? (enjoy 50% off your first Birchbox!)

Hey, peeps! After sharing with you my impressions about my first Birchbox, now I came back with another review: March box. I was very impressed with the products tried last month so now I will tell you the ups and downs of this month’s box. March is very important for Birchbox team ’cause they are celebrating the original Birchbox which Katia co-founded over 6 years ago with ‘a simple idea – make beauty discovery delightful and highly effective’. This month’s box has a nice and old-school design: the original kraft box. As Katia says in the small letter found in this box, Birchbox is now in 6 countries and is the #1 beauty box in the UK.

♥ Benefit They’re Real! (RRP £16.50 full size)

In February, whilst being in holiday I received an email from Birchbox asking me to choose a colour between: lusty rose and pink thrills. I already have lipsticks in different shades of red so I chose Pink Thrills for my Benefit sample. If you want to see how it looks like, click on this link and it will take you to my Instagram. I really like the way it makes your lips look fuller (and it has an amazing scent) but the down of this lipstick is that it doesn’t last long. After drinking a glass of water the color already starts to fade away. Maybe it’s my fault, I could blame my lips or because I don’t use a lip primer but there are cheap lipsticks out there that last longer. For me it’s not a big deal, I can just re-do it on and on as needed but for other people this would be a negative thing. I still want to give it a try to flame game and criminally coral shades because I find them very interesting. Position the pointed tip along the upper line and sweep on. Flip upside down for your bottom lip.

♥ Balance Me Instant Lift Primer (RRP £22 full size)

Some of you already know (others think I’m joking, maybe) but I never apply foundation when I do my make-up. When I was in high-school I think I put on foundation like 4-5 times in 4 years and that was everything. Never attracted to it but, to be honest, I do use a concealer/corrective concealer. When I bought my concealer last time I wanted to give it a go to the Essence Camouflage 2in1 Make-up and Concealer and works as foundation + concealer. When I do my make-up I use this one only as concealer. But yesterday I wanted to give it a try to the BalanceMe primer so I used Essence for foundation too. I don’t use primer, never used one before but I’m really impressed with this one. I can’t really compare it to other primers, tho. It has a lovely citrus scent, really covers your pores and makes your face ready for make-up; and this is due to the 99% natural blend of hyaluronic acid and acacia gum. If you want to see how it worked for me, click on this link and it will take you to my Instagram. Smooth all over your skin to prime and tighten, following your usual moisturizer.

Rituals: The Ritual of Sakura Foaming Shower Gel (RRP £4.50 full size)

If I didn’t tell you yet (I’m sure I did it) what I love about Birchbox is that I get to try new things every month. I never tried a foaming shower gel. I love the cherry blossom fragrance and its texture and that the organic rice milk soothes and cleanses your body. I will definitely buy it when it finishes. Massage a coin-sized amount onto damp skin, lather up and rinse away.

♥ Batiste 2-in-1 Invisible Dry Shampoo & Conditioner (RRP £4.49)

I received the one with Vanilla & Passionflower scent. I used Batiste before but this one is better. The sample is 50ml and for my hair was enough for 4 uses. My hair starts to get greasy after 3 days and that’s when I used it. I found it very light on my hair and gave it a new look. Also, it didn’t leave spots on my hair (which is black) because, obviously, it’s an invisible dry shampoo. It says that the conditioning lasts for 18 hours; I definitely saw it last for at least 12 hours. Dry shampoo it’s good when needed but I wouldn’t use it too often tho. Shake well then spray all over hair, from roots to ends. Massage in and brush through.

Marcelle Gentle Make-up Remover (RRP £14.50)I love this biphasic make-up remover for sensitive eyes. It was very easy to remove my makeup without any rubbing. I wiped it twice and all of my eye shadow, mascara and eyeliner wiped off quick. Usually I need to give it several goes until completely removed. I highly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. It soothes your eyes and skin due to the blend of cucumber and green tea. It’s also hypoallergenic, gluten-free and perfume-free. Apply to a cotton pad then gently wipe over eyes, skin and lips to remove make-up.
