RO: Heya, folks! Am revenit cu o nouă postare în care o să vă povestesc despre un obiectiv turistic fascinant din orașul în care locuiesc. Sinceră să fiu(spre rușinea mea), până să mă mut în York nici măcar nu știam multe despre acest oraș decât auzisem de regiunea Yorkshire. Acest lucru a făcut ca intrarea mea în acest oraș să fie wow. Nu am crezut că un oraș te poate face să rămâi pur și simplu uimit imediat cum ajungi. Până să cobor din autocar la gară, am văzut niște pereți… medievali… și apoi când am luat taxiul către clinică am văzut aceeași pereți care mă făceau să mă întreb ce caută acolo. Ulterior am aflat dar până să se mute și Mihai nu i-am vizitat. Așadar, ne-am zis că a venit momentul să „mergem pe pereți” :)) Pereții au lungimea de aproape 4 km și sunt cei mai lungi pereți medievali ai unui oraș din Anglia. Toată distanța se parcurge în aproximativ 2 ore. Sub zidăria medievală se află rămășițele zidurilor vechi care apărau orașul, datând încă din perioada romană. Pereții au 4 porți principale: Bootham Bar, Monk Bar, Walmgate Bar și Micklegate Bar. Este o senzație super să poți vizita orașul „de sus”, este o priveliște minunată. Vă las mai jos pozele făcute în timpul plimbării pe City Walls. 

EN: Heya, folks! I’m back with a new blog post in which I will tell you about one amazing attraction from the city where I live. To be honest(to my shame), until I moved in York  I didn’t even know too many things about this city, I’ve just heard about Yorkshire region. This thing made my entry in this city to feel wow. I didn’t think that a city can make you remain stunned when you see it. Until I’ve got off from the coach at the railway station, I saw some walls… medieval walls… and then when I took the cab to the nursing home I saw the same kind of walls that made me wonder what’s the thing with them there. Later I found out but until Mihai came here I didn’t visit them. So when he moved here, we decided that is time for a  „walking on the walls” :)) The walls are 4 km long and are the longest medieval walls of a city in England. All the distance you can do it in approximately 2 hours. Under the medieval stonework are the remains of the old walls, dating back to Roman times. The City Walls defended the city of York back in the old times. The walls have 4 main gateways: Bootham Bar, Monk Bar, Walmgate Bar and Micklegate Bar. Is a great feeling to visit the city from „above”, it’s a wonderful view.
