Exploring the Museum of Illusions in Manchester – A Fun-Filled Family Adventure!

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience in Manchester that blends fun, education and jaw-dropping illusions, the Museum of Illusions is a must-visit! We recently had the chance to explore their first UK location on Market Street (next to Tesco Express) and let me tell you – it was an absolute hit!

Step into a world where nothing is what it seems!

From the moment we walked in, we were transported to a world where reality twists and turns. With over 65 interactive exhibits, the Museum of Illusions offers something for everyone. Whether you’re mesmerised by the mind-bending Vortex Tunnel (which made me question my balance!) or laughing at the topsy-turvy Reversed Room that’s inspired by Manchester’s architecture – every corner is full of surprises.

Our Favourite Illusions: A blend of fun and learning

🌀 Vortex Tunnel: This one tested my balance like never before! You step onto a sturdy bridge, but as the tunnel spins around you, it tricks your brain into thinking the whole world is turning. Even though you’re standing still, it’s nearly impossible not to feel a little wobbly – we couldn’t stop laughing as I tried (and failed) to walk straight!

🍽️ Head on a Platter: Ever wondered what it’s like to serve someone’s head for dinner? This illusion had us in stitches! The effect was so realistic that we had to swipe through our photos twice to believe it. It’s definitely one for Instagram!

🚋 Reversed Room & Building Illusion: These rooms added a fun Manchester twist to the experience! This made the whole experience even more memorable.

The best part? Every exhibit is not just visually stunning but also challenges your perception, making it a fun learning experience for both kids and adults.

Perfect for all ages – A family day out sorted!

What I loved most about the Museum of Illusions is that it’s perfect for all ages and accessible with pram/wheelchair. My little one was fascinated by the vibrant visuals and playful mirrors.

Capture photo-worthy moments 📸

If you’re all about capturing those Instagrammable moments, this place is a goldmine. Every room offers something unique – from jaw-dropping illusions to mind-bending angles that’ll leave people wondering ‘Is that even real?!’ or ‘How did you do that?!’
