It’s been a year since we signed up for the National Trust membership and as I reflect on this past year I can’t help but feel a sense of wonder and gratitude.

Wray Castle (Cumbria – Lake District)

A magical place tucked away in Yorkshire! Picture ancient stone ruins surrounded by beautiful gardens – amazing! It’s a perfect spot to wander around, take stunning photos and just soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re into history or simply love exploring beautiful places, Fountains Abbey is a must-visit destination.

Admission: free for NT members; for non-NT membership is £19 for Adult and £9.50 for Child (under 5 – free).

Cragside (Northumberland)

A super cool place you’ve got to visit! It’s like stepping into a magical world of nature and science all rolled into one. First off, imagine wandering through huge gardens full of colorful flowers and giant trees. But wait, there’s more – Cragside was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. How cool is that? You can learn all about it as you explore the house and see all the fancy gadgets they had back then. Oh and did I mention there are awesome trails for hiking and exploring and also a driving route?

Biddulph Grange (Staffordshire)

You can explore different gardens inspired by places like China, Egypt and even the Himalayas. It’s like going on a global adventure without ever leaving the country! And if you’re into history, you’ll love learning about the people who used to live here and how they created this amazing place.

Brimham Rocks (North Yorkshire)

Towering rock formations that look like they were stacked by giants! It’s like a natural playground just waiting for you to explore. Climb to the top, scramble through hidden caves and unleash your inner explorer. But it’s not just about climbing rocks – although that’s pretty awesome. Brimham Rocks is also surrounded by beautiful moorland and stunning views that will take your breath away. Plus, there are walking trails for all levels, so you can soak up the scenery at your own pace. Oh, and did I mention the photo opportunities? You’ll want to bring your camera because every corner of Brimham Rocks is Instagram-worthy.

The verdict is clear: it’s been worth every penny. From the majestic Wray Castle to the enchanting gardens of Biddulph Grange, each visit has enriched our lives in ways we never imagined. Not only have we saved on admission fees and parking, but we’ve also gained access to a world of wonder and adventure.
